1. What is the QLTT comprised of:

Four exams (also known as Heads) in total:
I - Property - three hours duration
II - Litigation - three hours duration
III - Professional Conduct and Accounts - three hours duration
IV - Principles of Common Law - an oral exam of 30-40 minutes duration.

All written Tests are open book, so candidates are allowed to take with them into the exam any book, document or other written material.

2. Will I need to sit all four Heads?    

Answer
Not necessarily. The number of Heads required will be confirmed on your Certificate of Eligibility, based on your primary professional qualification. 
 
3. In which venues can I take the Test? 
   
Answer
UK, South Africa, India, USA, Caribbean, Hong Kong and Australia. 
 
4. One World Studies is a Course Provider. So how do I apply to sit the Test? 
   
Answer
Following enrolment for One World Studies' course programme, you will be provided with an application form to be filled-out and posted directly to the Test Provider, together with the Test fees. 
 
5. Which organisation provides the Test?  
   
Answer
There are currently a few Test Providers administering the QLTT, each of them at a different venue. Our course programme is tailored according to the QLTT Test Specification of the Solicitors Regulation Authority, so you can choose whichever provider you wish to sit the Test with. 
 
6. What is a Certificate of Eligibility? 
   
Answer
It is a document you must obtain from the SRA before applying to sit the Test. The application form can be downloaded from our website. It is also enclosed with the study pack. The SRA specifies on the Certificate what Heads of the QLTT you need to pass in order to be admitted to the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales. 
  
7. How long does it take to receive a Certificate of Eligibility?

The SRA provides this certificate within six to eight weeks. Hence, it is apply to to the SRA as early as possible. 
 
8. Can I enrol for the course programme of the Test without first receiving a Certificate of Eligibility?

You may enrol for the course programme before applying to the Law Society
for a Certificate of Eligibility, however you must have the Certificate in order to
apply to sit the Test? . 
 
9. I am a busy lawyer, who works many hours a day - Will I be able to participate in your course programme?  
   
Answer
One World Studies' course programme is tailored especially for busy lawyers, who are short of time. It allows for maximum flexibility and may be adapted to the pace and time slots available to you. 
 
10. How many hours do I have to study for the Test?  
   
Answer
Naturally, the answer varies from one candidate to another. Our suggested study timetable can be of assistance in planning your preparation. 
 
11. Do I have to purchase the Test Provider's study material in order to take the Test with that specific provider?  
   
Answer
Not at all. The Law Society does not prescribe compulsory courses of study that candidates have to attend prior to taking a Test. Therefore, candidates are free to purchase study material from any of the Course Provider and sut the Test with a different provider. 
 
12. If I take more than one Test at one sitting and unfortunately fail one, will I have to re-take all of the Test Heads?

No. You shall be required to re-sit the specific Head that you have failed. 
 
13. Do I have to take all Heads of the Test at the same sitting? 
   
Answer
No, you may choose the number of Heads you wish to take in each sitting. 
 
14. When shall I be advised of the results of the Test?  
   
Answer
Usually, the results are made available and posted to candidates six to eight weeks after the examination.

15. How do I enrol for the course programme? 
   
Answer
You may download our application form and return is to us once completed either by fax or by post. Alternatively, you can apply on-line on our website. 
 
16. What is the pass mark of the Test?  
   
Answer
The minimum score required to pass a written Head of the Test is 50 (out of a possible 100). In addition, you must obtain at least 50% of the marks attributable to the Professional Conduct and Financial Services part of the Professional Conduct and Accounts Head. You may not transfer points from one Head to another. 
 
17. What are the methods of payment for the course programme?

You may pay by either credit or debit cards (Visa \ MasterCard \ Switch \ Solo \ JCB), banker's draft or via bank transfer, as detailed on the course application form.
